In a remarkable stride towards transforming child health and nutrition in Sierra Leone, Infinity Mind Foundation, in close partnership with the District Health Management Team (DHMT) – Kambia, has today launched a groundbreaking training programme for frontline health workers. The initiative, which aims to curb malnutrition, is being hailed as a celebrated milestone in the fight against one of the district’s most pressing health concerns.

Held at the Kambia District Council Hall, the one-day intensive training session brought together 20 community-based frontline workers to introduce them to the cutting-edge “CommCare Connect digital platform” a revolutionary software designed to track, assess, and manage cases of child malnutrition at the community level.

With a strong focus on practical application and field readiness, the training empowered health workers to effectively administer key nutritional interventions, including Albendazole, Vitamin A (Red and Blue capsules), and other life-saving supplements to undernourished children.

The pilot project sets its sights on reaching a target of 3,000 malnourished children across selected chiefdoms and hard-to-reach areas of Kambia District” an effort that is already generating hope and optimism among local stakeholders and families.

At the heart of this transformative initiative is Dr. Rebecca M. Taylor, the visionary and compassionate Chief Executive Officer of Infinity Mind Foundation, whose unflinching dedication to improving community wellbeing through technology and grassroots empowerment continues to set a national example. Her leadership not only inspires change but brings sustainable, people-centered solutions directly to the doorsteps of those most in need.

Today’s training marks the beginning of what many are calling a “New Dawn in Community Health Delivery.” The broader rollout of the intervention campaign is expected to commence shortly, promising far-reaching impact and improved child survival outcomes across the district.

As Sierra Leone continues to face the burden of malnutrition, initiatives like this are proof that with the right partnerships, tools, and Leadership, change is not only possible”it is happening.
