Justice Monfred Momoh Sesay on Wednesday 5th February 2025, convicted Ibrahim Kamara and Alfred Cole on one count of burglary.

Both convicts, 33-year- old Ibrahim Kamara a fisherman and Alfred Cole. a 31-year-old motor bike rider were sentenced to ten years in jail each with effect from the 27th February 2023.

In their plea mitigation, the first convict Ibrahim Kamara pleaded with the trial Judge to temper justice with mercy on grounds that he has four children and his father is old, and he is the one responsible for their upkeep.

On arraignment at the commencement of the matter, the accused pleaded not guilty to the charges of conspiracy to commit burglary and larceny burglary.

During trial at the High Court sitting in Freetown, the State Prosecutor MK Johnson led four witnesses and tendered seven exhibits including the voluntary and charged statements of the accused, together with the commutal warrant from Magistrate Court.

It is recalled that on 22nd February 2023, at Tombo the now convicts broke and entered the dwelling house of Unisa Mohamed Turay, a teacher and student and stole there in properties worth Millions of Leones.

On investigation by the police, the convicts were arrested and some of the stolen items recovered.

In his Judgment, Justice Mondfred Momoh Sesay ordered the restitution of the items discovered to the complainant Unisa Mohamed Turay.
