Tragedy Strikes Kumrabai Matuku Village as Farmer Amidu Gbla Found Beheaded

Tragedy has struck Kumrabai Matuku Village, Kholifa Mabang Chiefdom, Tonkolili District as local farmer Amidu Gbla was found beheaded, leaving the community in shock and mourning.

The search party, aided by sorcerers and dogs, discovered Gbla’s body without a head on the farm of Ibrahim Conteh, a neighbour who shared a boundary with the deceased’s farm. Conteh was immediately arrested and taken to the Mile 91 Police Station. The head was later discovered buried nearby, and authorities ordered the burial of the body due to its condition.

According to reports, some family members had started suspecting Conteh due to a peculiar incident where he handed over a packet of cigarettes to a relative of the deceased, asking them to give it to Gbla if he returned. This behaviour raised suspicions, leading the search party to focus on Conteh’s farm.

The community was shocked by the incident, and the suspect’s family’s house was reportedly burnt, forcing his family to flee in fear of attack. The village is still reeling from the shock of this gruesome murder.

The Mile 91 Police Station is investigating the circumstances surrounding Gbla’s death. The motive behind the murder is yet to be determined, and the police are working to gather more evidence. The community is urged to remain calm and cooperate with the authorities as the investigation continues¹.
