Marie Kemokai, a 9-year-old attending Vine Primary School, Gassama Street, Calaba Town has been missing from home and her family is seriously looking for her. She was last seen on 9 April 2024 at Calaba town, 1 Kalokoh Street, Kasamma Street.
In an interview with Sierraloaded, Ernest Koroma, Marie’s father, revealed that on April 9th, he left home to visit a friend, following a road accident he had three years ago, which required surgery.
He mentioned that his wife was also absent, as she had traveled to the villages for business. Before leaving home in the morning, he left money for his other child’s hair braiding. Marie took that money, prompting her elder sister to hit her. A neighbor intervened to stop the altercation. Afterward, they all went to the market to buy foodstuffs. Once back home, they realized they couldn’t lock the door, so they left Marie to watch over the house. While the others went to the stream, Marie stayed behind. Upon their return, they found Marie had taken some meat from the cooked food, leading her aunt to threaten punishment. Subsequently, Marie fled from home around 5 in the evening and has not been found since. The father is urging the public to help find his daughter, expressing his anguish after days of searching.
The father, Ernest Koroma, and mother, Mariama Sumah are calling on the public to please call these numbers +23276808444 / +23277343594 if you see Marie.
