The United States Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Bryan Hunt, visited the Tonkolili District Council Administration on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. Accompanied by senior staff from the embassy, Ambassador Hunt met with the Council’s leadership, including Chairperson Yabom Thaslim Sesay and Chief Administrator Edward Alpha.
During the visit, Ambassador Hunt emphasized the importance of engaging with local governments beyond Freetown, recognizing the unique challenges and opportunities in districts like Tonkolili. He expressed admiration for the Council’s efforts and highlighted the potential for collaboration between the U.S Embassy and the Tonkolili District Council to address challenges and drive development.
The Chairperson, Madam Yabom Thaslim Sesay, welcomed the Ambassador and his team, showcasing the Council’s achievements, including rehabilitated Public Health Units, market extensions, and improved revenue mobilization. She also highlighted key challenges, such as waste management, late grant disbursements, and tax evasion by companies operating in the district.
The Chief Administrator, Edward Alpha, echoed the Chairperson’s concerns, emphasizing the need for support in addressing tax evasion and other issues hindering the district’s development. Ambassador Hunt concluded the meeting by reaffirming the US Embassy’s commitment to working with the Tonkolili District Council and other stakeholders to bring more development projects to Sierra Leone.
The visit ended on a positive note, with both parties exchanging gifts and expressing their appreciation for the enduring friendship between the Tonkolili District Council and the United States Embassy. The event was marked by a cultural dance display and the presence of local school pupils, showcasing the community’s warmth and hospitality.
Totally wasted time from Tonkolilians. That big fat man can’t do nothing for you. He is just trying to burn his fat around the country with hypocrite setting fire between the north and south people, they deed it before and they are doing it still in different countries. That’s their main goal divide and conquer. There’s a lot of people suffering just at the door Way of America, they do absolutely nothing for them instead they building Walls against them, millions are sleeping on the Streets of America without food or medical support. This are facts. So Sierra Leoneans people please Stop feeling inferior before those types of hypocrite people and start telling your problems to them, because it’s making no sense. They are listening to laugh behind your back. Most of you handling position in Sierra Leone must stop be littles in front of white people because they don’t have what you have and they don’t know what know. Stop telling your secrets to those hustlers. Think and grow rich with your citizens. No westerns will stand to see you grow rich or want to see Sierra Leoneans citizens get out of poverty none. Sierra Leone and it people don’t need no donations or credits from no one we have all it’s takes to feed our selves, build our nation and help foreigners as well.
Surely, he is not proving neutral. How many times he has been on the otherside backing them with all the atrocities.
Hunt is like any idiot that collects bribery.
