The Annie Walsh Memorial School has emerged as the winner of the 2024 National Cyber Awareness Schools Debate, securing 26.6% of the total score.

Their victory earned them a grand prize of NLe20,000, along with two brand new computer laptops and a range of additional consolation prizes.

The highly competitive debate, which aimed to enhance students’ understanding of cybersecurity issues, saw top schools from across Sierra Leone participating.

The International School Limited Secondary took second place with an impressive score of 24.6%, walking away with NLe10,000, two tablets, and other consolation prizes for their commendable performance.

The event showcased the growing awareness of cybersecurity among Sierra Leone’s youth, as participating students tackled critical topics related to online safety, data privacy, and digital responsibility.

The debate also provided a platform for students to demonstrate their critical thinking, public speaking, and research skills in front of an esteemed panel of judges and an enthusiastic audience.
