The organisers of the AWOL America Put Salone Fos platform have announced plans for its 10th Annual Achievement Award Ceremony, scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 5th, 2026, in Hanover, Maryland, United States.

The milestone event will be held at the Live Casino Ballroom located within the Arundel Mills area, bringing together Sierra Leoneans in the diaspora and international guests for a night dedicated to honouring excellence across various fields.

Organisers described the awards platform as “the biggest and most respected award platform” celebrating Sierra Leonean achievement globally. Over the past decade, the initiative has recognised outstanding individuals in areas including music, business, and community service, with a strong focus on uplifting Sierra Leoneans around the world.

According to the organisers, the platform formally known as AWOL AMERICA PUT SALONE FOS was the first of its kind to introduce structured award recognition within the Sierra Leonean community, and has since grown into a symbol of honour, prestige, and inspiration.

The 10th anniversary edition is expected to feature a red-carpet reception, bright lights, and appearances by top personalities from across the diaspora and beyond. Organisers have also promised a night of fashion, celebration, and global cultural expression.

“For 10 years, AWOL has stood as a symbol of honour, prestige, and inspiration,” the statement noted, adding that this year’s celebration will mark a major milestone in recognising excellence and strengthening diaspora connections.
