Eighteen-year-old Prosper Kamara of 5D Mellion Street, Wellington, Freetown, has reportedly died at Victory Enterprise Factory in Wellington PMB, Freetown.

Victory Factory is engaged in the production of alcohol and engine oil.

According to the mother of the deceased, Mariama Koroma, she was allegedly informed by a friend who saw her son’s remains that his body was discovered with a broken neck. Kamara was one of the pupils who sat for the just-concluded Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and had started working at the factory two weeks before his death.

Koroma further revealed that she has yet to see her son’s remains, as the body was taken to Connaught Mortuary by senior workers of the factory for a postmortem. The incident is said to have occurred on Saturday, October 19th, 2024, and since then, several attempts to reach the factory’s management have proven futile.

The matter is currently under investigation at the Congowater Police Station.
