The Tzu Chi Foundation, working in partnership with Caritas Freetown, has donated food and essential household items to the Kush Rehabilitation Center in Makobeh Village, Western Rural District, Freetown, as part of ongoing efforts to address drug and substance abuse in Sierra Leone.
According to information from the Tzu Chi Foundation and Caritas Freetown, the donation is aimed at supporting individuals undergoing rehabilitation and improving their living conditions as they work toward recovery and reintegration into society.
The assistance forms part of broader humanitarian and social support interventions being carried out by the two organizations in the country.

Items donated to the center included bags of rice, assorted food supplies, toiletries, clothing, blankets, big and small rubber bowls, biscuits, sweets, suitcases, and other essential household items. The items are intended to help meet daily needs at the center and to promote the general well-being of the residents.
Beneficiaries at the Kush Rehabilitation Center expressed appreciation for the support, describing the donation as timely and encouraging.
The Tzu Chi Foundation said the initiative reflects its continued commitment to humanitarian service in Sierra Leone. The organization has been involved in supporting vulnerable communities through food assistance, emergency relief, education support, and programs aimed at promoting social cohesion.

Caritas Freetown, as a local partner, expressed continued efforts in working with communities and institutions to address social challenges, including substance abuse and rehabilitation support.
