In a bid to ensure a peaceful and orderly election process, community leaders in Carlton have joined forces with Chief Superintendent Mohamed Turay, Local Unit Commander (LUC) of the Congo Cross Division.

On Friday, October 25, 2024, a meeting was held at the Congo Cross Division headquarters, bringing together chiefs, key stakeholders, and members of the TCG Congo Cross Division to reaffirm their commitment to maintaining peace ahead of the upcoming elections.

CSP Mohamed Turay, during the meeting, provided an update on prior discussions with election aspirants, the Local Policing Partnership Board (LPPB), and other election organizers.

He underscored the significance of implementing effective security measures to guarantee a smooth electoral process. Turay also addressed concerns about rumors of potential unrest in the community, reassuring the attendees that the police were prepared to manage any challenges that may arise.

Community leaders, including the chiefs and the LPPB chairman, expressed their strong commitment to promoting peace throughout the election period.

They pledged to work closely with law enforcement and other stakeholders to create a secure environment where the elections can proceed without disruptions.

CSP Turay commended the proactive stance of the Carlton Community leaders, acknowledging their dedication to peace despite the pressures of their daily responsibilities.
