The Children’s Forum Network (CFN) in Kailahun is taking a stand against teenage pregnancy, early marriage, and school absenteeism through a sensitization campaign aimed at school-going pupils.
The campaign, launched by CFN president during an opening ceremony, highlighted the dangers of these issues, particularly how teenage pregnancy often leads to school dropouts and early marriage. He urged students to prioritize their education, emphasizing its lifelong benefits for them and their communities. He also stressed that perpetrators of these harmful practices face legal consequences.
Lawrence Fodie Dauda, the CFN General Secretary, addressed misconceptions surrounding Valentine’s Day, urging teenagers to avoid risky behavior. He cautioned against sacrificing virginity for temporary gestures like flowers. Dauda emphasized the importance of regular school attendance and punctuality, highlighting the value of assemblies for learning and prayer.
The campaign’s Public Relations Officer, Madam Hassanatu Moiwo, assured that the message will reach all schools within the district, emphasizing CFN’s role as an umbrella organization for children’s groups.
This initiative by the CFN demonstrates their commitment to promoting child well-being and responsible behavior among young people in Kailahun. By addressing these critical issues, they aim to empower students to make informed choices and build a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
Good job to CFN membership
