Police at the Criminal Investigations Department at the Motema Police Divisional Headquarters in Nimikoro Chiefdom, Kono District are frantically investigating at least three (3) alleged drowning matters. One of the alleged drowning matters involved a forty (40) year old man at Seidu village in Nimikoro Chiefdom, Kono District.
Talking to A-Z multimedia correspondent, the investigator of the said alleged drowning matter Assistant Superintendent of Police, Aaron Alpha Kamara noted that the deceased Isaiah Safeah Quee was discovered dead in a river with both his hands and feet tied up. The police investigator pointed out that during his investigation, a woman identified the deceased to be her brother who usually visited his friend where she stays at Seidu village.
However, the said police investigation has maintained that the woman who claimed to be the deceased sister cannot identify the deceased friend which could be vital in the investigation.
Meanwhile, local authorities in one of the neighbouring chiefdoms where the alleged drowning took place have told the police investigator that the deceased was head teacher in Saiama, the chiefdom headquarter town of Lei, noting that the deceased was a very friendly and peaceful man that was ready to accommodate everyone at any giving time and place.
The local authorities in Lei chiefdom have therefore urged the police investigator to thoroughly investigate the said matter so that anyone found guilty of any foul play must face the full penalty of the law.
In a similar development, police at the Criminal Investigations Department at the aforementioned police divisional headquarters are also investigating another alleged drowning matter which took place at LUX Night Club Swimming Pool at Lebanon Area in Koidu City on Tuesday 20th July, 2021.
The fifteen-year-old boy’s father Ibrahim Bah told a-z that on the aforesaid fateful day, he was called at the Koidu Government Hospital adding that upon his arrival he was asked to identify a corpse that ended to be his son whose remains were brought to the Koidu Government Hospital after allegedly drowning in the swimming pool at the LUX Night Club at Lebanon Area in Koidu City.
In a tearful mood the deceased father maintained that his son use to be a shop keeper after school and in the evening hours he used to go for Arabic lessons describing him as a promising citizen. Ibrahim Bah further expressed dissatisfaction over the attitude of the owners of the LUX night Club where his son allegedly drowned as none of them ever visited his family members neither sympathised with them for the loss of his son.
In the same vein, police at the aforementioned police division are also investigating circumstances leading to the alleged drowning of a forty-one (41) year old Chinese National Li Luoyi in the Baffie River in Kono District.
According to the police investigation, the deceased who was Operating a dredge machine for mining but later went to attend to nature by the side of the dredge when he allegedly fell and drowned in the said Baffie River.
The police investigation further pointed out that although the deceased had legal residential document but their mining was put on hold for illegal operations. As police investigations into the three alleged drowning matters continue, the remains of the fifteen and forty-years old corpses have been buried whilst the remains of the Chinese National are still at the Koidu Government Hospital mortuary for critical and thorough police investigation.
Police say they have at least fourteen suspects in their custody following the alleged drowning of the forty-year-old man that was found dead with both hands and feed tied up.
