In a Facebook post, a concerned Sierra Leonean questioned the Freetown International Hospital with regards to their advertisement of conducting cosmetics surgeries in their facility.
Some days back, the hospital on its Facebook page posted adverts for Breast lifting and stomach-flattering surgeries which ignited questions from a concerned citizen.
Read full message below:
“Dear Freetown International Hospital
I made a comment on a post where your hospital advertised that you are offering breast lift surgeries….
And as a bonafide and concerned Citizen of Sierra Leone I have every right to state my concerns and doubts about the said service you are galavanting amongst Sierra Leoneans on Social media..
Like a coward you crawled into my inbox to type nonsense instead of defending yourself in the comment section.
My beloved Sierra Leone has had bad experiences with quack doctors who set up hospitals that have claimed several lives….
I have a few questions for you..
1. Who licensed you to carry out such specialized surgeries in Sierra Leone?
2. Cosmetics surgeries like those advertised on your page require specialists trained and certified in that field to carry them out. Are the doctors conducting these surgeries at your outfit qualified to conduct such surgeries? Are they members of reputable medical bodies overseeing such procedures in West Africa, Africa or from wherever y’all crawled out from?
3. Do you have the necessary equipment, facilities and medications to carry out such surgery/surgeries?
4. Can you provide access to individuals that have successfully gone through the surgeries at your hospital in Sierra Leone? Let them come out and showcase ur handwork.
5. Can your qualifications and certifications be ascertained by international Qualifications Assessment bodies?
6. Talking about is it easy for organs to be stolen from patients without knowing? Are you daft or that ignorant of happenings in your sector around the world….
haven’t u heard of women going to countries like Turkey, Dominican Republic, Colombia and the likes for cheaper cosmetics surgeries but return home with complications stemming from their organs that were stolen?
I’m not one of those gullible citizens that worship or kiss the asses or lick the butt cracks of foreigners in our land…..I have the right to question and critically access everyone/thing that looks and smells suspicious…..
I hope the Ministry of Health can investigate your hospital to assess your credibility to operate and conduct such services in Sierra Leone….
Until you answer my questions, my concerns about u remain valid.
Do have a bullshitty day
Dear Honourable ministers Austin H. Demby and Jalikatu Mustapha…..Please take note of the aforementioned hospital in Freetown and the cosmetics Surgeries they are advertising on Facebook…..Are they/were they licensed to undertake such specialized surgeries in Sierra Leone……Kindly look into them so they don’t soil the reputation of your Ministry.”
