Musa Kambia has been sentenced to three years in prison by Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah at Pademba Road Court No. 1.
The conviction was for obtaining money by false pretenses, in violation of Section 32(1) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
Kambia was brought before the court on April 19, 2025, after being charged by Sergeant 8975 Bangura I.S.
The charge stemmed from an incident that occurred on Saturday, April 11, 2025, at Pademba Road, Freetown, within the Freetown Judicial District in the Western Area of Sierra Leone.
According to the prosecution, the accused falsely claimed to recognize the whereabouts of Christian Alphaso Gilo Blake’s missing son, Charles Blake, and, with intent to defraud, obtained the sum of twenty-five Leones (NLe 25) from Mr. Blake under this false pretence.
During the hearing, Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah reviewed the evidence presented, including testimonies from witnesses who were cross-examined by the court. After considering the evidence, the magistrate found that there was sufficient grounds to convict Kambia.
In his ruling, Magistrate Jah stated that the evidence against the accused was compelling and that justice necessitated a custodial sentence.
Consequently, Musa Kambia was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment at the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown.
