Liberian security authorities have arrested a 53-year-old Sierra Leonean driver, Mohammed Kormah, after allegedly discovering 59 compressed plates of suspected marijuana in his vehicle.

According to officials, Kormah was driving a Sierra Leone-registered vehicle with plate number ATV-477 when it was stopped for inspection.

He was reportedly the only occupant of the vehicle at the time. In addition to the suspected marijuana, security personnel also found suitcases containing personal belongings.

Authorities in Liberia say investigations are ongoing to determine the source and intended destination of the drugs. Kormah remains in custody while legal procedures continue.

No further details have yet been released regarding possible charges or court appearances.
