The Ensah Children Foundation has on the 16th November, 2023 launched new physiotherapy machines and free treatment for Sierra Leoneans in Kenema city.
Speaking on the occasion the Founder and CEO of the foundation, Ensah Boima Jouna revealed that, they decided to roll out a free treatment to the people of Kenema to complement the effort of the central government through the Ministry of Health and Sanitation in the Eastern region of the country.
The occasion gathered different stakeholders and beneficiaries who came to witness and benefit from the health service provided by the foundation.
“Recently I got an attack and because I know that, here are many citizens out there who might have got similar attacks and need help so as a foundation. We have ordered for some machines from India and other physiotherapists within the country who may come to assist the people of Kenema and by extension the Eastern region and Sierra Leone at large. Those machines are opened to the people of Kenema for treatment that may be free for a start,” he said, adding that they are working to ensure that those with disabilities are assisted and given medical attention.
In her statement, the chairperson of the Sierra Leone Association of Journalist (SLAJ), Md. Victoria Vanday Banard thanked and appreciated the Ensah Children’s Foundation for complementing the effort of the government and called on everyone to take advantage of the service in making sure that, they regain their health. She called on the women, the community stakeholders to ensure that, the foundation get its stake in the community.
Mr. Dassama from the Civil Society Organizations said, they welcomed the idea and thanked the CEO for the establishment of the charity organization in the district that may serve the need for the entire eastern region and the country at large.
Mr. Ensah assured that, the foundation is working hard to have a health-teaching institute that may help the community people and training young youths and capacitate them.
