The Judiciary of Sierra Leone on Monday 27 February 2023 commenced its first-ever court sittings in Dembelia Masaya Chiefdom, Falaba District.
The setting was made following a press release issued by Judiciary on 21 February 2023, informing the general public of the High Court Criminal Session to be held in Masaya, in Falaba District, Mattru Jong Town in Bonthe District, and Pujehun Town in Pujehun District on various dates ranging from the Monday, February 27 – 4th March 2023.
The Paramount Chief of Dembelia Masaya Chiefdom, PC Manga S.K. Jawara ll, said that he is happy on behalf of his people to witness the very first court sittings in his chiefdom which he said is an honor.
He commended the Chief Justice, Hon. Justice Desmond Babatunde Edwards for his commitment to ensuring that justice is accessible at every corner of the country.
