Students from the Faculty of Communication, Media and Information Studies at Fourah Bay College (FBC), accompanied by the Dean, Dr. Sowa, and the Vice President of MACOSA, are currently in Ghana participating in an international documentary collaboration.
The initiative brings together students and academics from Fourah Bay College, Illinois University, and the University of Media, Arts and Communication (UMAC). It is designed to promote academic exchange, cross-cultural learning, and collaborative media production.
The programme focuses on hands-on documentary filmmaking, giving participants practical experience in storytelling, field research, and media production. Students have the opportunity to work across borders, exchange ideas with peers and faculty from other countries, and develop skills essential for modern media and communication practice.
The Faculty expressed optimism about the collaboration, highlighting its value in enhancing students’ practical skills and providing global exposure. “This programme is an important opportunity for our students to gain international experience while contributing to impactful media projects,” said a Faculty spokesperson.
Organisers and colleagues have wished the team a successful production, with anticipation high for the outcome of what is expected to be a significant and influential documentary collaboration.
