Hassan Kamara, a traditional herbalist, residing at No.5 Consider Lane, Calaba Town in the east end of Freetown has cured over 300 addicts of kush and other narcotics substances.

Kamara’s residence has now become a rehabilitation center as it is presently accommodating over 30 youths waiting to be healed. These sick youths from different parts of the country were brought to the rehabilitation home by their parents who were wing about the existence of the center and the power of Kamara to heal such sickness.

In an interview with Kamara, he disclosed that he has been a traditional herbalist for some time and has cured mentally deranged persons, witchcraft, and impotency among other ailments. He said Kush has been a serious issue for the state through which hundreds of millions of Leones have been spent to sensitize the general public about it and related harmful substances. He said to date neither government nor organization or individual has found an appropriate solution to its cure except him lamenting further that amidst his effort and popularity no authority has ever visited his rehabilitation center to talk with the affected persons, noting that he does not only cure Kush victims but also help them to refrain from its consumption after treatment.

Kamara continued that immediately an addict is brought to the home for a cure, his first indication is to first diagnose which normally leaves them in a state of unrest. The second step is to disarm all the infections in the membrane which if not cured will result in patients changing attitudes and behaviors that are seen as abnormal. He said all the youths in the home upon consuming the medication become normal and never appetitive

Meanwhile, he said he has turned down many youths who are brought to the home because of lack of space. “I have a piece of land adjacent to my house but I want assistance from the government, both local and international NGOs, and other humanitarian groups to construct a much larger center to accommodate the increasing public demand,” Kamara appealed in conclusion.
