Chief Jeneba Amara of Serabu in the Baakoi Section, Kpanga Chiefdom, Pujehun District, has been reinstated to her position after being suspended by Paramount Chief Andrew Ibharim Jaiah Kaikai.
The reinstatement follows a period of deliberation and reflection on the part of the chiefdom authorities.
Chief Sylvester Monda Kamara, the Speaker of Kpanga Chiefdom, shed light on the matter, attributing Chief Jeneba Amara’s suspension to allegations of insubordination and defiance towards Paramount Chief Kaikai.
However, following a heartfelt apology from Chief Jeneba Amara and numerous appeals from across the district, the Paramount chief extended clemency and reinstated her to her rightful position.
In his statement, Speaker Kamara emphasized the importance of respect and obedience to authority, indicating that this incident should serve as a warning to all chiefs within the chiefdom.
Chief Jeneba Amara, upon her reinstatement, recounted the events leading to her suspension. She explained that the conflict arose when she recommended Bobor John Koroma as her deputy, a suggestion initially accepted by the authorities.
However, tensions escalated when the authorities proposed Saffa Koroma as an alternative deputy, leading Chief Jeneba Amara to refuse to work with the appointed individual, citing the rejection of her recommendation.
Expressing gratitude for her reinstatement, Chief Jeneba Amara affirmed her commitment to serving her people and pledged to collaborate with the Chiefdom authorities and her appointed deputy, in accordance with their decision.
The reinstatement of Chief Jeneba Amara signifies a resolution to the internal strife within Serabu, fostering renewed cooperation and unity within the community.
