J&F Investments SL Ltd has terminated the employment of Fatmata Bangura, an employee attached to the Conex Filling Station in Lungi.
According to a letter addressed to Ms. Bangura, she was captured in a video engaging in heated argument with customers and reportedly uttering insulting language.
The letter stated that Ms. Bangura action contravenes her professionalism and ethics as a customer attendant of the company and therefore terminated her employment contract with immediate effect.
Ms. Bangura was asked to return all the company properties in her possession including the uniform immediately to the Station Manager Mr. Alhassan Kargbo.
That’s rude of her
The whole problem behind the fuel scarcity in this nation is a game between the government, managers of fuel stations, and the fuel pump attendants, the fuel pump attendants will prefer to sell to Jebu dealers with a commission than we the end user.
The whole of Moyamba District fuel pump attendants preferring Jebu sellers over us is not a new thing to us, you will be at a fuel station to buy a letter and they will say there’s no fuel or the cota for the day has finished but you see a Jebu dealer come along with ten of five gallons and he/will be sold to, when you asked why, they will say is a call from above.
For Salone to be stable we need a bottom-top approach, equal rights to all.
Sacking her is not the best option, she would have to be demoted or given another punishment, she has dependants with such it will create a problem in her home and by extension the nation.
As you rightly said, sacking the fuel pump attendant is not the best option because she’s got dependants. However, she should have thought of this before engaging in theft and other dubious activities. Investigations revealed that she has been doing what she did for quite some time. The theft notwithstanding, being very rude to customers was also unprofessional. Anyone serving the public is bound to be polite. Anyway, I hope she has learnt her lesson the bitter way.
She got what she was looking for. Period
She got what she was looking for
She deserved it. You’re doing the wrong things instead of you being polite, she started abusing the police and the Government. That’s the usual habit of fuel attendants, they did the same to me at Matotoka demanding additional Le 5 for every Litres. I patiently waited after receiving the said quantities and refused to pay the additional charges. This will serve as a lesson
How can any one see who saw how the woman behaved say she should not have been fired? Should someone like that be representing a company? She is unfit. She is asking for a bribe and not only is she not shy about it, she is way beyond brash. She is not a good employee and that is her personality.
