In a rare but symbolic moment of political civility, prominent opposition figure Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara (JFK) and Chief Minister Dr. David Moinina Sengeh shared the spotlight at the grand launch of the Chapter One Entertainment Center in Freetown.
The event, which attracted top personalities from across Sierra Leone and Africa, turned festive when prominent opposition strongman JFK, a leading lawyer and close ally of former President Ernest Bai Koroma, joined Chief Minister Sengeh on the dance floor. The two were seen dancing joyfully in an open space, drawing loud applause from the crowd a gesture that many interpreted as a powerful message of national unity.
Taking to social media after the event, Chief Minister Sengeh emphasized the importance of collaboration across political lines. “We must always remain united in our commitment to develop Sierra Leone,” he wrote. “I am very good friends with several opposition leaders like JFK!”
The display of camaraderie between the ruling and opposition camps at such a high-profile event has been widely praised, offering a refreshing example of how political differences can be set aside for the greater good of the nation.
This is fantastic! Unity is strength
Wow you guys have made the comment section to be easy to locate. Kudos 👍🏼
I love the blend of the way Chief Minister is rallying with other politicians.
A sprite of of a perfect togetherness and unite 🥰
who cares? good for them, by the way why should this be headline?
It’s just up to those who are killing them self and using abusive language against others.
The problem of Sierra Leone lies on us as party members and not on politicians, but it only takes patriotism to understand this. And until and unless we change such premodern instinct…I fear Salone even at century of independence, will still be the same as Salone in 1961…I cry.😭
