In a rare but symbolic moment of political civility, prominent opposition figure Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara (JFK) and Chief Minister Dr. David Moinina Sengeh shared the spotlight at the grand launch of the Chapter One Entertainment Center in Freetown.

The event, which attracted top personalities from across Sierra Leone and Africa, turned festive when prominent opposition strongman JFK, a leading lawyer and close ally of former President Ernest Bai Koroma, joined Chief Minister Sengeh on the dance floor. The two were seen dancing joyfully in an open space, drawing loud applause from the crowd a gesture that many interpreted as a powerful message of national unity.

Taking to social media after the event, Chief Minister Sengeh emphasized the importance of collaboration across political lines. “We must always remain united in our commitment to develop Sierra Leone,” he wrote. “I am very good friends with several opposition leaders like JFK!”

The display of camaraderie between the ruling and opposition camps at such a high-profile event has been widely praised, offering a refreshing example of how political differences can be set aside for the greater good of the nation.
