The Commander Joint Force (CJF) of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF), Major General Fred Alpha, travelled to Kukuna in Bramiah Chiefdom on Sunday 26th December, 2022 to spend Christmas with troops deployed along the Sierra Leone –Guinea border.

The CJF and team were heartily welcomed by the Paramount Chief, his cabinet and subjects of the chiefdom. In his welcome address, PC Kandeh Momoh Sulaiman De-Phoreh II emphasized that the presence of the CJF and in Kukuna during Christmas meant a lot to the soldiers stationed there and the people of the village.

On his part, Major General Fred Dauda Alpha thanked the PC and people of Kukuna for their warm welcome and hospitality. Moreover, he expressed gratitude for their continued cooperation with and support for the RSLAF through the soldiers deployed at Kukuna Village. Thus, the CJF emphasized that his Christmas visit symbolizes unity, comradeship and friendship between RSLAF and the people of Bramiah Chiefdom. Finally, the CJF advised the youths of the village to remain law abiding and avoid taking drugs.

This visit to outposts at Christmas is a yearly Commander Joint Force event geared towards boosting the morale of the troops and cementing civil military relations in those remote outposts. This year, the CJF was accompanied by a cross section of the Chiefs of HQ JFC and other key Staff Officers.
