Prominent Sierra Leonean Journalist Mohamed Murtala Kamara has predicted that tribes like Vai, Krim, Sherbro, Koranko, Loko, and Kroo in Sierra Leone will likely extinct or absorbed into other tribes in the next 15 to 20 years if actions are not taken.

He recently posted on his Facebook page that “Krim, Vai, Shebro, Koranko, Loko, Kroo…These tribes will likely extinct or absorbed into other tribes in the next 15 to 20 years if nothing is done.”

Kamara who also doubles as a Pan Africanist has also opined that Nothing is wrong with our children speaking English but we are not making efforts to teach them their local languages and culture. He added that in the next 10yrs, you will hardly find any member of your family that speaks your tribe. He described this generation as a lost generation.

Kamara further revealed that we are more Brits than the British and whenever he looks at the next generation, he feels sad for this country. He blames our educational system for not teaching our kids about their culture and values.

He believes that after colonialism, these other African countries still embraced their cultures. Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, Nigeria, and Ghana are proud of their cultures but Salone? It seems like we were brainwashed.
