Solar-powered Street and traffic lights are currently being installed in parts of the northern town of Kabala in Koinadugu District.

Most of the installations are being done in centre of the town called 1 mile -close to the clock tower.

The community links most of the other major communities like Bafodia, Yogomaia and Bawuya.

Kabala is one of the most sparsely populated town in Sierra Leone but several local and international tourists visit the town in order to climb the Bintumani mountain, the highest peak in Sierra Leone.

Some have longed called on authorities to aid the beautification and modernisation of the town due to its tourism potential.

While some locals in the town are celebrating the development, some have called on authorities to install electricity in the town.

The town’s electricity supply was destroyed during Sierra Leone’s 10-year civil. Recently electric poles have been installed to reintroduce electricity in the town.
