Over 40 physically challenged persons in Dea Baiwala chiefdom Kailahun District are calling on NaCSA to fulfill their NLe2,660 promise.
According to the chiefdom chairman, Sierra Leone Union on Disability Issues, Munya Swarray, explained that NaCSA had over three times conducted a cash transfer registration with the physically challenged persons, and had issued them with sim cards assuring them of a NLe 2,660 cash transfer assistance, which has not materialized since then.
He noted that there are over 70 men, women and children who are living with different types of disabilities. Chairman Swarray described their corrent living condition as miserable and unfavorable. He appealed to NaCSA to fulfill their promise.
Andrew Bockarie Konneh vice chairman and Hawa Conteh, chairlady added that unlike Baiwala, many other chiefdoms had benefited the cash transfer and other facilities from NaCSA and other organizations.
Vice chairman Konneh noted that Baiwala chiefdom is among other chiefdoms and should benefit every opportunity as others.
Chairlady Hawa referred to the registration and other promises as fake and therefore called on the attention of the central government and other humanitarian organizations to intervene and improve on their living standards.
