In a proactive move to combat drug trafficking and abuse within Kambia District, the Kambia Police Division, under the leadership of Local Unit Commander CSP Mr. Abu Bakarr Magona, has launched a significant operation targeting drug cartels in three communities – Kambia Township, Rokupr, and Bamoi Luma.
The Operations Team executed a series of raids on ghettos, cartels, and makeshift structures in the identified areas with the primary objective of disrupting the operations of drug cartels and deterring the illegal sale and consumption of harmful substances.
During the operation, the police successfully apprehended two male and one female suspects in Rokupr and Massama Road, seizing a substantial quantity of Kush and Cannabis Sativa. The suspects are currently in police custody at the Kambia Police Divisional headquarters, cooperating with ongoing investigations while the seized exhibits are securely stored.
The operation has yielded positive results, enhancing the peace and security within Kambia District and its environs. The police have intensified border monitoring patrols, both day and night, to prevent smuggling activities and apprehend potential criminals.
