A 25-year-old Kekeh rider has captured the hearts of Sierra Leoneans after successfully graduating from Fourah Bay College (FBC) with three major academic achievements, all earned through determination, sacrifice, and an unshakable belief in his future.
Over the last five years, he worked tirelessly as a kekeh rider to fund his education paying his fees, printing academic work, purchasing fuel, and covering daily expenses. Despite the physical exhaustion and countless challenges, he refused to abandon his dream.
His academic journey speaks volumes:
Certificate (Distinction)
Diploma (Distinction)
First Class Honours Degree in Adult Education & Community Development

He describes the journey as one built on “grace, resilience, and sleepless nights.” While many celebrate his results today, he reminds the public that the path was far from easy.
One of the most painful moments came when he was arrested by traffic police shortly before a major class presentation.
“I begged and explained I had a 2pm presentation. She said that was not her business. I missed it. I was frustrated… but it made me stronger.”
Balancing early-morning kekeh riding with demanding university coursework pushed him to the edge sometimes even sleeping in class from exhaustion but he never gave up.
Today, he stands among FBC’s finest, grateful for God’s grace and the support of his family and community.
His message to young people is clear:
“Don’t give up. Your story will make sense one day.”
With a First Class Honours at just 25, he has proved that humility, hard work, faith, and perseverance can turn even the toughest journey into a story of triumph.
