The newly transformed Police Divisional Headquarters in Koindu has been empowered with a truck and two motorcycles to carry out effective operations in their area of operations.
Presenting the vehicle on behalf of the Inspector General of Police Fayia Sellu, the Human Resource Officer Sierra Leone Police Musa James, explained that the move was to capacitate the division with logistics since it is located in a strategic arena, sharing borders with neighboring Guinea and Liberia. He maintained that the vehicle would ease the movement of the police personnel within their area of jurisdiction.
HR Musa James reemphasized the merits of having a division in any community. He further pledged the IG’s commitment to ensuring a continuous combat in crime rate. HR Musa James encouraged the community to work together closely with the police in the division for a positive outcome in policing.
The Paramount Chief of Kissi Teng chiefdom Kailahun District, PC Emmanuel Nyuma Ganawa the 3rd applauded the effort of the IGP and the president of the Republic of Sierra Leone HE Julius Maada Bio for boosting the effort of the police personnel in the division. He further registered his commitment on behalf of the other local authorities for continuous support.
The Honorable Member of Parliament, Fallah Kenewah Tengbeh pledged his commitment to continuously play his advocacy role as one of his duties to ensure more developments unfold in the community.
Receiving the vehicles, the Local Unit Commander ASP Kamara expressed profound gratitude for elevating him to the rank of LUC from the position of OC. He stressed that as a first Local Unit Commander of the division he will do all he can in his powers to ensure the effort of the president and the Inspector General of Police yield good dividend.
Even though suggestions were made to change the vehicle due to the road conditions, yet, all participants present on the occasion expressed gratitude for the gesture.
