The Honourable Chief Justice Komba Kamanda, accompanied by Justices of the Superior Court of Judicature, paid a site visit to the Residual Special Court for Sierra Leone to assess its suitability as a potential new home for the Supreme Court.

The visit, led by Registrar Madam Bintu Mansaray, is part of the Judiciary’s ongoing efforts to resolve infrastructural challenges affecting court operations in the country.

Chief Justice Kamanda described the review as a “significant step” in the Judiciary’s efforts to modernize its institutional environment and improve access to justice.

The current Supreme Court building faces structural and logistical limitations, necessitating the search for a more secure and functional alternative. The Residual Special Court premises are being considered as a viable option to address these challenges.

The visit underscores the Judiciary’s commitment to upgrading legal infrastructure in line with its constitutional mandate, ensuring the effective delivery of justice across Sierra Leone.
