Authorities involved in the ongoing search and rescue mission at the site of the collapsed seven-story building in Freetown recovered and returned 55,600NLe to its rightful owner.
The incident, which took place on Friday, September 20, 2024, during operations at the disaster site, saw the money being handed over to Mr. Ibrahim Sow, the owner, in a formal ceremony.
The handover was witnessed by key figures, including security personnel, representatives from the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA), Members of Parliament, and several community members.
Expressing his gratitude, Mr. Sow thanked the authorities for their honesty and commended them for their transparency in such a challenging time.
