The healthcare services in Kaffu-Bullom Chiefdom have received a notable enhancement as the Lion Mountain Carita Foundation (LMCF), a well-known charitable organization based in the USA, donated three state-of-the-art Stryker electronic beds to hospitals in the Lungi area.
The beneficiaries of this generous donation include the Lungi Government Hospital, Bai Bureh Memorial Community Hospital in Mahera, and the Love Bridges Health Center’s Surgical Department in Lokomasama Chiefdom.
These beds, along with additional medical equipment, are valued at over $60,000 and are set to revolutionize patient care in the region.
The handover ceremony, held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, marked a pivotal moment for the healthcare institutions in these two municipalities. The donation is part of LMCF’s broader initiative to enhance healthcare infrastructure in Sierra Leone.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Abbal Jawandor Seasay, the CEO and founder of LMCF, highlighted the foundation’s commitment to improving medical facilities in the area. “We are on the verge of completing a radiology building, currently 80% done.
Our efforts have been bolstered by generous donations, enabling us to acquire advanced medical equipment such as a CT scan machine, stationary and portable X-ray machines, ultrasound devices, EKG machines, crash carts, patient monitors, maternal and general hospital beds, stretchers, and even essential utilities like solar panels, a power plant, generators, and vehicles,” Mr. Seasay stated.
The donation is expected to significantly improve the quality of care in these hospitals, enhancing patient comfort and aiding medical staff in delivering more efficient services. This gesture underscores LMCF’s dedication to fostering a healthier community and supporting the healthcare system in Sierra Leone.
With these advancements, the Lungi hospitals are now better equipped to handle complex medical procedures and provide superior patient care, a testament to LMCF’s ongoing mission to transform healthcare in under-resourced areas.
