The Extension Division of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (MAFS) has started significant strides in supporting maize farmers across Moyamba District, led by the dedicated District Extension Officer, Mr. Brima S. Bangura.

Under Mr. Bangura’s proactive leadership, the selection of beneficiary farmers has been conducted with a focus on trust and fairness, ensuring that individuals actively engaged in farming activities receive the necessary support.

In Block Two, two communities have benefitted: Luponka/Senehun and Njala/Pelewahun. The ongoing planting initiative targets more than 3 hectares in total, with 2.02 hectares allocated to Luponka and 0.8 hectares to Njala/Pelewahun.

In addition, similar initiatives for maize and sowbeans are underway in Block One, further extending support to farmers throughout the district.

The MAFS Extension Division is more committed than ever to empowering farmers in Moyamba, marking a transformative period in the district’s agricultural history.

A special thanks goes to Mr. Bangura for his efforts in elevating the division into an active force within the ministry, fostering growth and sustainability in local agriculture.
