Magistrate Santigie Bangura of the Magistrate Court No.2 in Freetown advised two parties to have a out of court settlement and granted the accused person bail.

Ishmeal Fullah alias (China man), a businessman, made his first appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura on a private criminal sermon on one count charge of Obtaining money by false pretenses contrary to section 32 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916.

According to the particulars of the offense, it was alleged that the accused sometime in 2021, at Hill Cut Road, Freetown, the complainant Mahmoud Koroma obtained the sum of fifteen thousand Leones (15,000) for the purpose of buying three tons of iron rods, knowing the same to be false.

When the charge was read and explained to the accused, he pleaded not guilty.

Counsel representing the accused person, A.M. Kamara, indicates to the court that the accused person delivered the said iron rods to the complainant in question.

Due to the information from the defense counsel, Magistrate Bangura advised the parties to go and settle the matter and granted bail to the accused person in the sum of twenty thousand Leones with two sureties in like sum. The sureties must be residents of Freetown and must produce a valid identity card depicting their address in Freetown.

The Deputy Assistant Registrar will approve the bail. The Matter was adjourned to 14 October 2023.
