Saio Kamara has been sentenced to 7 years imprisonment at the Makeni High Court, after he was found guilty of the offence of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm contrary to Section 18 of the Offences Against the Person Act, 1861.

This is according to the daily report of the Sierra Leone Judiciary released on Monday 11th December, 2023.

The report states that Kamara appeared before the Resident High Court Judge of Bombali Judicial District, Hon. Justice Mohamed Bawoh to answer to three counts of Wounding and Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm, contrary to Section 47 of the Offences Against the Person Act, 1861.

Kamara was represented by O.B Kamara Esq. from Legal Aid Board. He pleaded guilty on all counts and begged for mercy.
