Amara Salia, 54, also known as Pelitp, has appeared before Magistrate Mary Julian Gbloh at Pademba Road Court No. 5 on charges related to a violent incident. Salia, a staff member at the National Protected Area Authority (NPAA), faces four criminal charges: conspiracy, causing grievous bodily harm with intent, wounding, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, all in violation of the Offences Against the Person Act of 1861.
According to the particulars of offence, it was alleged that the accused Salia on March 28, 2025, at Car Wash in Kamayama, Lumley, conspired with unknown individuals to inflict grievous bodily harm on Abubakarr Turay. He is accused of intentionally causing serious injuries to Abubakarr Turay, as well as wounding and assaulting him.
During the court proceedings, the accused Abubakarr made no plea after the charges were read to him.
Prosecuting Officer Sergeant 5598 Santigie Koroma requested a brief adjournment to present the next prosecution witness. Magistrate Gbloh denied the accused bail and remand him to the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown. The matter was adjourned to July 8, 2025 for further hearing.
