The National Revenue Authority (NRA), and the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ), have joined in remembrance of Samuel Brima Mattia, the late Assistant Station Manager of VoPAD Radio, to show solidarity.
Many dignitaries, including SLAJ’s President, officials from the NRA’s Public Affairs and Tax Education Unit, VoPAD Radio workers, and community members, attended the ceremony and gave Mattia’s family a condolence purse.
Mattia, known for his steadfast passion to journalism, has made great contributions to the media environment. His death has had a great impact on local communities and the media industry.
The NRA and SLAJ jointly organized the homage, which recognized Mattia’s outstanding work in radio broadcasting and commitment to building a more informed and educated audience.
The NRA’s participation in this homage is said to have demonstrated the organization’s understanding of the media’s critical role in encouraging national development and awareness.
SLAJ together with NRA’s Public Affairs and Tax Education Unit commended Mattia’s work, stating his integrity and tireless attempts to increase journalism quality. They also expressed condolences and praised Mattia’s efforts to the media.
