The National Revenue Authority (NRA) has launched six rebranded public buses, branded ‘Waka Fine’, at the Lumley Bus Terminal as part of efforts to enhance taxpayer education and promote tax compliance.

According to the NRA, the initiative is designed to raise public awareness about the importance of paying taxes and contributing to national development through an innovative and user-friendly platform.

The buses are uniquely branded with taxpayer education messages aimed at commuters and the general public, with the goal of improving understanding of tax obligations and the benefits of compliance

The Authority explained that the ‘Waka Fine’ campaign leverages the high visibility of public transport to disseminate tax-related information in an engaging and accessible manner. By integrating educational content into everyday travel, the initiative seeks to promote a culture of voluntary tax compliance while demonstrating how tax revenues support national growth and public service delivery.

The NRA described the project as part of its broader commitment to adopting innovative outreach strategies that connect with citizens in their daily routines, making taxpayer education more impactful and far-reaching.

The launch event at the Lumley Bus Terminal marks a significant step in the Authority’s efforts to strengthen engagement with taxpayers and improve transparency through effective public communication.
