The Sierra Leone Parliament has passed into law a new Act geared towards improving the well-being of locals in the West African country.
The newly proposed Act, titled “Improving the Well-being and Quality of Life of Sierra Leoneans,” aims to enhance the government’s financial allocation for various institutional services in the upcoming fiscal year.
For the fiscal year 2025, the projected budget is set at twenty-seven billion seven hundred and sixteen million three hundred and fifty-seven thousand four Leones (27,716,357,400).
Following a thorough legislative process, which included discussions and assessments by the Sub-appropriation Committees of Supply and the Whole House, the Bill has successfully passed into law, with some amendments.
This Act aligns with the government’s initiatives to increase salaries for certain civil and public servants, as well as security personnel, reflecting a commitment to improving the livelihoods of those serving the nation by April next year.
Well said! I pray for a good implementation.
