The Sierra Leone Police reportedly arrested two women on Friday, September 12, 2025, in Waterloo for allegedly engaging in a same-sex marriage ceremony.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 4:00 PM in the New London, Mango Farm community, where residents were reportedly shocked to witness the ceremony.
The women have been identified as Massah Mansaray and Jannet, with Jannet reportedly assuming the role traditionally associated with a man.
Word of the event quickly spread, drawing large crowds and sparking intense discussions among community members. Concerned residents alerted authorities, and the pair were escorted to the Corner Kick Police Post for questioning and further investigation.
The incident has generated mixed reactions within the community, with many describing it as unprecedented. Authorities are currently handling the matter in accordance with local laws.
Thank to the sierra Leone police for the proactive by the grace of Allah the laws of these countries will not allow that.
In this first case the law needs to take it course so the other that has the same plan would go far from it, so the police the ball in your court to save Mama Salone.

Homophobic Sierra Leoneans are so stupid, brain-dead, and foolish. I honestly wish people would read more, think beyond religion, and see how dimwitted they are. How is this affecting anyone really? If two women want to get married, let them. I wish this energy were given to corrupt politicians, kush/drug dealers, and actual criminals running the country. Everyone is just slow and worried about the wrong things. That is why the majority of the country is hungry and depressed. We will never be free!
