The Operations Team of the Waterloo Police Division has conducted a well-planned raid on the infamous Kono Park in the Bassa Town community. This operation led to the removal of several makeshift structures known for harboring drug dealers, peddlers, and users.

This area, known for its involvement in illicit activities, had been frequented by hundreds engaged in drug-related operations.

Upon the team’s arrival, the individuals engaged in illegal activities hastily fled, abandoning a considerable quantity of narcotics, including Kush, Tramadol, and various other substances. The Operations Team swiftly secured and confiscated the discarded drugs left behind by the perpetrators.

In a parallel incident, Gibril Sesay, a 34-year-old self-proclaimed building contractor from the Sherbro Town community in Newton, faced legal action after being apprehended by the authorities. Sesay was found in the act of removing several steel windows and doors from a newly constructed and partially completed house.

Subsequently, he was taken into custody at the Newton (4 Mile) Police Post, within the Waterloo Division. The police acted swiftly in response to the attempted theft of construction materials, an act that would have not only resulted in financial loss but also hindered the progress of the building project.

These recent interventions by the Waterloo Police Division signal a commitment to curbing illicit activities in the region and ensuring the rule of law is upheld. The operations serve as a strong message against criminal behavior, reaffirming the authorities’ dedication to maintaining safety and order within the community. Residents and stakeholders have shown support for the police efforts in ensuring a safer and more secure environment for all.
