The Port Loko District Council has held its 11th ordinary session at the council’s conference hall in Port Loko Town, northwest of the country.

The session was fully attended by 28 councillors, the chairman, his deputy and other district stakeholders including Paramount Chief Bai Kompa Bomboli the 3rd of Koya Chiefdom, sector representatives, the fourth estate, council staff and members of the community.

The session started with Deputy Chief Administrator, Mohamed S. Mansaray on behalf of Chief Administrator (CA) Arthur Allieu making a welcome address -giving a perfect green light for a friendly atmosphere of engagement.

Steering the sitting, Council Chairman, Sheku Saccoh remarked on his private foreign trip and exploration of development opportunities.

He called for the reading, corrections, and adoption of minute as the next item on the agenda. A range of issues were brought up by councillors spaning from construction and maintenance of community facilities, flooding affecting villages and farms, to councillors’ welfare issues. Responses were systematically tendered by the Chairman. This was followed by Council Administrative and financial update by the Deputy Chief Administrator(DCA)and Finance Officer respectively.

PC Bai Kompa Bomboli the 3rd of Koya Chiefdom, in his statement advised councillors to avoid ego and pride and maintain tight collaborations with their various paramount chiefs for community developments. He added that the council will help to promote middle level man power in the district.

The meeting was climaxed with tools supplied to all councillors for community minor works, and adjournment done for next meeting to the following month.
