The recent power outage in Kenema and Bo has raised concern from the management of Transmission Company Cote d’ Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea ( TRANSCO CLSG).

In a press release dated the 7 December 2022, management stated that the 225/33 kv 40 MVA transformer installed at the CLSLG Kenema substation in Tiloma slid due to the activation of its relay.

It says that led to the loss of stable power supply in the two cities which get their power supply from the CLSG Kenema substation in Tiloma.

The statement also explained that TRANSCO CLSG, is currently working tediously with the Electrical Distribution Service Authority (EDSA) and its contractors to fix the problem.

The management of TRANSCO CLSG assured the public of its commitment in providing a stable and affordable power to the people of Sierra Leone.

The TRANSCO CLSG project is a multinational investment project that is being financed by four donors, the World Bank, European Investment Bank, KFW and the African Development Bank. The four countries that benefited from this project provided counterpart contributions for the payment of resettlement Action Plan and interest occurred during construction work.
