In a historic move, Pujehun District is set to have its first-ever clock tower, a key developmental promise being fulfilled by the District Council Chairman, Foday Kandeh Rogers Sr.

The clock tower project, currently under construction at Gobaru Main Junction, marks a significant milestone in the district’s journey toward modernization and infrastructure development.

Chairman Rogers, who ran under the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) during the 2023 general elections, had pledged in his manifesto to build a clock tower, install solar street lights across the township of Pujehun and other major towns, and implement several other development initiatives.

Driven by a strong desire for progress, the people of Pujehun voted overwhelmingly for Rogers, inspired by his ambitious plans for the district.

True to his word, just months after assuming office, Chairman Rogers launched the clock tower project—demonstrating his commitment to the promises he made during his campaign.

Recognizing the financial demands of the project, Rogers appealed for support from local stakeholders and government officials. Among the key contributors was Chief Minister Dr. David Moinina Sengeh, a proud son of Pujehun District, who played a major role in funding the initiative. Several other stakeholders from the district also offered their support.

Locals have praised Chairman Rogers for his proactive and transparent leadership, referring to him as a “man of his word.” The project is now approximately 60% complete, and excitement is building as residents eagerly anticipate its completion and the launch of other promised initiatives, including the installation of solar street lights.

As the clock tower begins to take shape, it stands not only as a new landmark for Pujehun but also as a symbol of progress and accountability in local governance.
