On January 13, a devastating fire incident occurred next door to the Rokel Commercial Bank (RCBank) Juba branch, leaving over 50 individuals homeless.
In a heartwarming response, RCBank has extended support to the victims as part of its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility efforts.
A cross-section of RCBank staff, led by the Head of Public Relations, presented a variety of food and non-food items to the affected families.
The gesture, made on behalf of the Board, Management, and Staff of RCBank, reflects the bank’s commitment not only to profitability but to the well-being of the communities it serves.
The donated items included:
10 large bags of onions
10 small bags of rice
10 small gallons of cooking oil
50 bundles of sachet water
During the handover, key representatives from the bank, including Marketing Department Manager Michaella Macauley, Public Relations Officer Aruna Dumbuya, and Juba Branch Manager Asiatu Mansaray, expressed heartfelt sympathy to the victims of the fire.
While acknowledging that the items may not fully replace what was lost, they emphasized that the donation was intended to help alleviate the immediate burden of food insecurity following the tragedy.
“We understand the pain of this loss, and though these items may not completely make up for what has been lost, we hope they will provide some relief during this difficult time,” said Dumbuya.
This donation underscores RCBank’s unwavering dedication to supporting Sierra Leoneans through both prosperous and challenging times, reinforcing its role as a responsible corporate citizen in the country.
The bank continues to demonstrate its commitment to the community by providing assistance in moments of need, ensuring that the people of Sierra Leone are not left behind.
