Rokel Commercial Bank has hosted a cashless party in celebration of its upcoming 25th anniversary at the Hamilton Resort on Saturday, 20th April, 2024.

The Fiesta was attended by top management staff, junior staff, customers, and business persons, amongst others.

Speaking at the occasion, Emile Sannah, supervisor at the Simkorpor Unit at RCBank (SL), acknowledged that without the support of its customers, there would be no RCBank.

He pointed out that “Tonight actually marks a dream come true as a result of our dynamic and indefatigable MD Dr. Walton Gilpin, who made it possible for us to host the event. This Cashless Fiesta shows that people can pay, and people can withdraw without cash in their Pockets. All customers need to do is scan our QR Code or send through their e-korpor a testament that Rokel is a Bank of Choice. I want all potential customers who do not have accounts with RCBank to come on board and have accounts with Rokel Commercial Bank. It’s a leading bank, and we are moving forward. ”

Speaking earlier on the rationale behind organizing the Fiesta, Francis Gandi, President of the Junior Staff Association revealed that they dubbed the event as “RCBank Cashless Fiesta” because it aligns with one of the five Key Priorities of the Managing Director Dr. Ekundayo W. Gilpin. He recalled that at the start of 2024, the visionary managing director emphasized the need for moving away from traditional banking to that of creating a cashless environment in Sierra Leone that would facilitate banking transactions for customers.

RCBank Staff from the Business Development, Regina Nyama, described the Fiesta as a huge success for the bank. He described the turnout as massive with many cashless transactions amongst staff and customers for food and drinks.

During the event in commemoration of the Bank’s 25th anniversary, the HR Manager expressed her gratitude to the Junior Staff Association for hosting it. She appreciated the idea of promoting the Bank’s digital products and called on all staff to lead by example in using these products. The HR Manager also assured customers that Rokel’s move towards cashless transactions aligns with what already exists in the USA. She emphasized that everyone should have a seamless way of conducting banking transactions, which is the vision of the Managing Director.

During a WhatsApp call, the managing director emphasized the importance of hosting the first ever cashless event. He stated that a cashless environment is the preferred way for financial inclusion and the right path for the country to go. He expressed gratitude to everyone who attended the program.

A fiesta aims at promoting team bonding among the junior staff Association ahead of the Bank’s 25th Anniversary Celebration, celebrities like Empress P, Adfega, and many more performed live at this auspicious event.

The cashless Fiesta subscribed to the strives and vision the Managing Director is making to achieve a cashless society and bringing the bank closer to the people.
