A truck filled with over 300 bags of rice caught fire on Wednesday evening at Songo Tollgate.

The incident occurred around 10:00pm on Wednesday February 14th 2024 at Songo. It took some time to extinguish the flames which burnt much of the rice and damaged the vehicle.

Police officers were around, and they confirmed the incident. The cause of the incident is unknown at the moment. However, some of the rice was successfully removed from the burning vehicle, according to residents.

According to them, no one was hurt but unfortunately, the rice, worth millions of Leones, was destroyed in the fire.

Meanwhile, the police have launched an investigation into the matter.
