A team of official security delegates on 26 February 2026 visited the reported incident scene along the Sierra Leone–Guinea border to assess the situation and engage local authorities.
The delegation met with elders and traditional chiefs in affected communities, where discussions focused on recent tensions and the need to maintain calm as diplomatic efforts continue between the two countries.

Community leaders expressed concern over the situation and urged restraint, emphasizing the importance of peace and stability in the border region.
Sources indicated that Sierra Leonean representatives attempted to initiate dialogue with Guinean troops stationed at the border. However, the discussions reportedly did not proceed after the Guinean personnel stated they had not received instructions from their superiors.

The development has heightened anxiety among residents, many of whom depend on peaceful cross-border trade for their daily livelihoods. Locals fear that prolonged tensions could disrupt economic activities and affect movement between communities on both sides of the border.
Authorities are expected to continue diplomatic engagements aimed at resolving the matter and restoring normalcy in the affected areas.
