The Sierra Leone Police East has announced the re-arrests of two escapees who had previously fled from the Pademba Road Correctional Center in Freetown due to the failed coup on Sunday 26th November 2023.
This came about due to the diligent effort of the SLP-East to clamp down on individuals planning to disturb the peace of the citizens in the region.
The escapees, identified as Samuel Koroma of Gon, Mandu Chiefdom, Kailahun District, who was serving 150 years prison sentences, for brutally killing his father, was arrested in Daru, while the Kenema Operational Division Officer-Inspector Mohamed Corneh, arrested 75years old Ibrahim Koroma of Potehun Village, Nongowa Chiefdom, who was serving a jail term of 15 years, for sexual penetration.
Speaking on the operation, the Regional Police Commander-East, Commissioner Andrew M. Kamara commended the determined efforts of his personnel, stating that he was immensely proud of their dedication and professionalism displayed throughout these operations.
He stated that their tireless work and commitments to public safety have ultimately led to the apprehension of these fugitives who would be transferred to Freetown Correctional Center immediately, adding that, the search for the fugitives would continue unabated.

All of this things happening is happening in our country today it’s because of the commonwealth community, European union and the united state. They always wanted African to abide by there own voice as a slave till now.
I was expecting the police commissioner to appreciate and commend the community people the civilians. Those fugitives were arrested by civilians in Daru and then hand him over to the police. If the police commissioner East is only Levying praises on his men and leaving the community people the civilians behind is unfortunate.
