A sister to Justice Momoh Jah Stevens has responded to a video released by Edwina Jamiru, in which Jamiru made several allegations involving the judge, his wife, and their children.

Speaking on behalf of the Stevens family, she said her intention is not to create further conflict but to address the claims circulating online about her brother.

She noted that the video alleged that Justice Stevens insulted his wife, questioned the paternity of their three children, and suggested that Jamiru’s child is his biological child.

She described the situation as distressing and appealed to Jamiru to stop escalating the matter publicly. She emphasized that while she does not defend any wrongdoing by her brother, the narratives being shared online are harmful, misleading, and emotionally damaging particularly to the children involved.

According to the sister, Justice Stevens has been a disciplined, focused, and respectful individual throughout his education, legal training, and professional career. She maintained that he has never been associated with irresponsible behaviour and believes the claims being circulated do not reflect his true character.

She condemned what she termed attempts to destabilize Justice Stevens’ home and marriage, stating that no one should seek to disrupt a family or use social media to create tension in a household with young children.

The sister urged Jamiru to approach the matter with maturity and restraint. “If there are issues, they should be resolved privately and with dignity,” she said. “Dragging families and children into public drama is not the way to handle conflict.”

She also called on community leaders, family elders, and relevant authorities to intervene if necessary to help restore calm and prevent the judge’s reputation from being unfairly tarnished.

The statement concluded with a call for peace, respect, and the protection of the children at the centre of the dispute.

The family stressed that while disagreements may exist, they should not be allowed to undermine the integrity or stability of the household.
